Real-time spike saving Empty Real-time spike saving

Good day everyone.
I am new to this forum. We have purchased a MEA-60 system, and we obtain some signals from cultured neurons, but we would now like to do real-time signal cleaning/spike saving, i.e. keep essentially the waveforms with a time stamp to reduce file size for long-duration recordings.
Is there a rack or an application or an earlier thread presenting solutions for this ?

Many thanks in advance,

Hello Michael,
the spikesorter tool of MC_Rack can do that. Spikes are detected on all channels according to a threshold or slope. It is then possible to select in the recorder only the spike datastream. You can define the lenght of the spike cutouts. Detailed information you will find in the manual or the online help of Mc_Rack (search for spike detection). There is an application example on the MCS website about spikedetection in organotypic cultures, there you might also find some usefull information.

Best regards Frank (MCS)

Real-time spike saving Empty It will be great if we can read the mcd file while MC_Rack is generating it.

Will it be possible that we can read a mcd file while it is still been generated by MC_Rack.

For example, when MC_Rack is writing to a mcd file "test.mcd", is that possible for me to read this file?

Thank you very much!

Hello Brooks,
unfortunately, the answer is simple: No. The file is not accessible while it is still open.

Oops, but thanks any way.

Is there any method to access the mc_rack processed data / mc_card raw data directly from a c++/python program?
