NOISE TROUBLE IN MEA 1060 INV

Post  meaquestion on Tue Apr 28, 2009 9:25 pm

Hello ,

Recently, I've made some experiment using MEA 1060 INV and I've obtaine a noise level of 40ÁV peak to peak, wich is very large so I cannot record spikes. I've changed the amplifier and I've used the MEA 1060 INV BC with its associate FA60S, and the noise level falls to 13.7ÁV peak to peak and I can view spikes in this case. So the problem is coming from the MEA 1060 INV. Can you tell me please if the noise level that I obtain with the first reference is normal? or if there is another problem that can be fixed by your technicians?

Thank you for your answers.

Best regards

Dear Dr. Boutaib,
the noiselevel on both amps should be more or less the same. Please check the noise level with the test model probe, to see whether the problems originate from the MEA or the grounding (which I expect). A possible cause would be that the contact pin of electrode #15 (ground electrode) is dirty or damaged.
