How To: Bipolar Stimulation in voltage mode

Hi,

I want to stimulate the hippocampal schaffer collaterals using a bipolar stimulation (the charge should go from one to the other electrode).
I wonder how to configure the two channels in MC_Stimulus.

Do both have to have the same polarity?
For exaple for paired pulse:
pulse value unit time unit value unit time unit value unit time unit repeats
Channel1: rectangular 500 mV 20 Ás -500 mV 20 Ás 0 mV 50 ms 2
Channel2: rectangular 500 mV 20 Ás -500 mV 20 Ás 0 mV 50 ms 2

or does the second channel has to be the inverse of the first channel?
pulse value unit time unit value unit time unit value unit time unit repeats
Channel1: rectangular 500 mV 20 Ás -500 mV 20 Ás 0 mV 50 ms 2
Channel2: rectangular -500 mV 20 Ás 500 mV 20 Ás 0 mV 50 ms 2

Dear Jan-Oliver,
you can use the + and - output of the same channel of your STG. They will automatically produce identical pulses but with opposite polarity. Please see te manual of the STG how to set up a bipolar stimulation (chapter output modes).
