Use after long term storage Empty Use after long term storage

Post  DiSh Wed Mar 05, 2014 11:13 am

Hello,

I have started to use MEA and noticed that the MEAs have been stored at 4´C in water for a long time ,
And I observe a greyish layer on the MEAs.

Can I use them as they are after ethanol cleaning or they need special cleansing.

I would be culturing hIPSc derived CMs on 6 well MEAs.

I would also like to know,
for regular continuous use, what would be the cleaning and storing procedure.

Also would you recommend  if I can autoclave the 6 well MEAs or plasma clean them.

Regards

DiSh

Dear DiSh,

- after long term storage in water MEAs should under go the regular cleaning procedure.
http://www.multichannelsystems.com/sites/multichannelsystems.com/files/documents/manuals/MEA_Manual.pdf p43ff

- MEAs can be autoclaved and plasma cleaned.

Especially after a longer storage it is recommended to perform plasma treatment and autoclaving.
