MEA suggestion
Hello All,
I need a suggestion as to what type of MEA I should order for a specific task. I am trying to do optical stimulation of mouse cortical neurons. I am tending towards an ITO MEA to reduce photoelectric effects due to stray laser light. I was wondering what kind of electrode spacing and pad diameter would be best? So far, I am tending towards 200 um spacing with 10 um diameter electrodes, but I am not sure if the high impedance caused by the smaller 10um pads will cause a low Signal/Noise ratio? Should I go with 30 um pads instead?
Thanks,
Steve

Re: MEA suggestion
Dear Steve,
are you planning to do the optical stimulation from above ot from
below? ITO is a good idea in any case, but if you stimulate from below, I would suggest to use the thin ITO MEAs. Only problem is, there are only 100/10 or 200/30 available. However, the 30 or 10µm electrodes do not make much of a difference concerning signal to noise ratio. The 30µm are usually better for electrical stimulation.
Best regards Frank, MCS

Re: MEA suggestion
I think we will end up getting a mix of thin and standard ITO MEAs. Thank you for your suggestion.
