Cables that come with STG 4008
Hello,
I just received an STG 4008 unit. Numerous cables came with the unit.
Here is what I received:
(A) 8 red and 8 black cables, 50 cm in length, each with a silver-colored thick pin at one side and a golden-colored thin pin at the other.
(B) one gray-colored cable assembly, 80 cm in length, consisting of three cables (red, blue and black) each with a sliver-colored thick pin at one end and a golden-colored thin pin on the other side.
(C) 8 black cables, 20 cm in length, each with identical golden thick pins at both ends which are tapered and serated.
(D) 2 black cables, 20 cm in length, each with identical golden thick pins at both ends and with a resistor attached in the middle of the cable.
What is the functionality of the different cables? Which ones are shielded?
Thanks,
Nicolas P. Cottaris, Ph.D.

Re: Cables that come with STG 4008
Dear Dr. Cottaris,
the grey cables are shielded, the others are not. However shielded cables are usually not necessary. The cable with the 10MOhm resistor is used to measure currents with the ascilloscope (see manual page 77). The tapered and serated cables can be used to cabine stimulation channels to achieve a higher voltage output.
