electrode impedance
Hi, i am using 200/30iR-Ti MEAs and I see that the datasheet reports impedance values ranging from 30 to 50 kOhm. I will appricate if you could provide me more details about electrode impedance..for example, what is the frequency range considered? (I know that electrode impedance varies with frequency..)..could you provide me typical impedence curves?
thank you so much
Giulia

Re: electrode impedance
Dear Giulia,
Impedance of MEA electrodes is recorded at 1khz.
I would be glad to send you spectra.
Please e-mail us to support@multichannelsystems.com to enable us to attach the files.
Greetings

Re: electrode impedance
Dear Thomas,
thank you very much. I've just e-mailed you asking for the impedance curve.
I take advantage of your kindness asking if you could also provide me information about the typical MEA electrode offset voltage. I know that the electrode offset and its drift depend on the experimental conditions and on the electrode..but maybe you can tell me a typical range of values for neuronal cultures (i.e., hundreds of uV, or mV?)
Thank you!!!

Re: electrode impedance
Hi Giulia,
it is rather just a few µV. I realize duringe experiemts that I have to update auto correct of offsets when I switch amplifiers, but there is usually just a tiny difference between individual MEAs.
I send out the spectra and replied to your other questions by e-mail
have a good afternoon

Re: electrode impedance
Thank you Thomas!
I asked you about the typical offset value for neuronal cultures cultured on 200/30 TiN MEAs because I've never noticed any offset during the very first seconds of recording (so, just before the DC-baseline restorer is effective, as stated in the MEA1060 manual)..so I supposed the offsets on electrodes were very small, and you confirmed my thought.
Best wishes
Giulia
