clean MEA with Caro's acid
hello, everyone,
i have now ein used MEA Chip, it is covered with dead cells, i have used almost all the cleaning methods,
1) 45min, in 70 C water with washing-up cream(ph7)
2) 0.25% trypin on the MEA at 37C for 30min
3) ultrasonic baths for 15min, and 3 times in different day
but its still there, can i use Caro's acid (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peroxymonosulfuric_acid) on MEA for a short time, e.g 15min?
or maybe you have some better idea.
wating for your answer, thank you
Adam

Hi Adam,
please consider subszantially longer digestion times for Trypsine or tergazyme. I usually leave my MEAs for 10-48hrs in the Tergazyme. (at least over night, sometimes over the weekend...)

Hey Thomas,
i have tried the Tergazyme, even 3 days long, but the Chip is still covered with tissue, i think the tissue was fixed on the MEA, so how can i remove the fixed tissue?
yours

Dear Adam,
if the tissue is fixed, detergent won't dissolve it, that's the idea. So either you try to remove the tissue mechanically (water jet), ot you try to find a method to neutralize the fixation. In the end, it might be easier to get a new array.
Best regards Frank
