Problems with Matlab-MEX files (McsUsbDLL.h) on 64Bit for STG400x

Sat Apr 07, 2012 1:23 pm by Titoschmi

I try to use an STG400x with Matlab (R2011b) control with a 64Bit WIN 7 computer.
Even with Microsoft SDK 7.1 installed (like suggested by Matlab for the compilation of MEX files) Matlab still fails to deal with the MEX files.
If I understood it correctly Matlab tries to compile the McsUsbDLL.h file, which is written in C++. Therefore Matlab requires a compiler to deal with it. However it fails …

Hi,
After downloading and installing the latest version of MCS-StimulusII (3.4.0), when i plug my STG2004 I get a "USB Device Not Recogized" message and MCS_Stimulus is unable to connect.
should i download and install a driver manually?

on-line configuration of STG2004 using Labview

Tue Oct 04, 2011 11:28 am by avnerw

Hello,
We have an STG2004 in our lab, and I need to program it on-line (without using MC_StimulusII). The application I'm building is LabView based, and I've found in our MCS library two labview codes (Stg200x.vi and Stg400x.vi) and also McsNetUsb.dll. Where can i find documentation on how to use and modify these VIs according to my needs?
regards,
avner

Bipolar stimulation

Fri Nov 05, 2010 5:24 pm by np_cottaris

Hello,

I have purchased a set of four STG4008 stimulators for driving a 32-electrode stimulating array (for use in retinal stimulation).
I am interested in bipolar stimulation, in which current is sourced from one electrode and sinked in another electrode. According to the manual I can drive a pair of electrodes (say A and B) in this push-pull configuration by connecting electrode A to the + …

Documentation of McsUsbDLL

Tue Nov 09, 2010 10:24 pm by np_cottaris

Hello,

I want to use McsUsbDLL with Matlab to control the STG4008. I have examined the McsUsbDLL.h to obtain information about the parameters for the different functions, but I would like a description of what each function does, and some information about the sequence with which different functions should be called.

Some functions are self-explanatory, but many are not.

Is there a …

External triggering of a 32-channel system: LP filters needed?

Mon Nov 08, 2010 7:11 pm by np_cottaris

Hello,

I want to trigger stimulation of a 32-channel system (consisting of 4 STG4008 devices) externally, using a single TTL pulse. I plan to send this pulse to Trigger IN of channel #1, and then have the SYNC Out of that channel trigger the remaining 31 channels.

Do I need to interface a separate resistor/capacitor low-pass filter to the BNC connector of each of the 32 channels to avoid …

Cables that come with STG 4008

Fri Nov 05, 2010 5:37 pm by np_cottaris

Hello,

I just received an STG 4008 unit. Numerous cables came with the unit.
Here is what I received:

(A) 8 red and 8 black cables, 50 cm in length, each with a silver-colored thick pin at one side and a golden-colored thin pin at the other.

(B) one gray-colored cable assembly, 80 cm in length, consisting of three cables (red, blue and black) each with a sliver-colored thick pin at one end …

Minimum Current Amplitude

Fri Nov 05, 2010 5:56 pm by np_cottaris

Hello,

The manual of the STG4008 states that the timing and the amplitude of analog output pulses may not be accurate for very small amplitudes (below 100 microAmps), due to the intrinsic properties of the electronic parts of the stimulus generator. Is this a typo? The resolution of this device is 0.2 microAmps, so 100 microAmps is 50 times higher.

Thanks,

Nicolas P. Cottaris,

Multiple STG1008 System

Mon Jun 21, 2010 5:23 pm by Chris Wright

I am using the 8 channel STG1008 stimulus generator to run a series of byphasic pulses to a panel of electrodes. However, I have two STG1008's, and I would like to stimulate up to 16 electrodes at the same time. I know that multiple stimulators can be used on the same computer, but can they be linked together so that they both trigger the pulses at the same exact time?

Thanks,
