Perforated arrays Empty Perforated arrays

Dear MCS,

I have some questions about your new perforated arrays. When you position the slice over the array, do you use the grid at all or the applied negative suction is sufficient to hold the slice? Also, would it be possible to make 3D arrays with such perforations? That would be an obvious hit!

Many thanks,

Maksym

Dear Maksym

Exactly, that's the intention behind it: You don't have to worry about grids and stuff anymore. The contact of the tissue to the electrodes is better than with conventional methods. Positioning of the slice onto the MEA is much more easy, too. Also, the oxygen supply is improved.

Best regards, Christine

Is there any pressure applied to the tissue?
I work with retinal tissue and am concerned about eliciting action potentials because of the mechanical force applied.
Thank you for your help.
