FlexMEA plasma/UVO treatment Empty FlexMEA plasma/UVO treatment

Post  villekuj Fri Oct 24, 2014 8:24 pm

Hi there,

I was wondering if it OK to use oxygen plasma and/or UV Ozone treatment with the FlexMEA36 probes? I perused the datasheet and MEA Manual, but couldn't find any mention of plasma/UVO there.

Mainly my concern is whether the material properties remain unchanged after repeated plasma/UVO treatment cycles?

Since the tracks and contact pads are made of gold and electrodes out of titaniun nitride I'm assuming they will be OK since those are used on the MEA chips and they are fine after plasma/UVO. So, therefore I guess what I'm asking if the Polyimide 2611 foil can take repeated plasma/UVO treatment cycles without degradation? Any pointers on that?

Many thanks,

Ville

Dear Ville,
plasma treatment for the flexMEAs is O.K.
