We have a problem in our culture of cardiomyocytes.
Cardiomyocytes don't contract.
We use a collagen substrat like a coating substrat.

Dear Sabir,

in the majority of cases like this it is not the coating, that causes the adhesion problem, but the surface of the MEA itself. All MEA chips are treated in the plasma cleaner before we ship them - however this treatment does not last forever and should be repeated about once every two weeks if you apply a coating in a hydrophilic solution (like Collagen, Fibronectin ...). If you are using Nitrocellulose in MetOH this problem will not occur so easily.

Please treat your MEA chips for 1-2 minutes in the Plasmacleaner. If you do not have one in your department try one where an electron microscope is used - they will most likely have a plasma cleaner.

For more options have a look in our MEA manual - ready for download here and see the application note for cardiomyocytes.
