Better sound
The 'Sound' function in MC_Rack is terrible. Am I doing something wrong?
I don't want 'popcorn in windy forest', I want separate notes for each channel and no background noise.
Help? Please? Pleeease?

Re: Better sound
Dear iPlant,
you are not doing anything wrong, that's how the sound tool works. The analog signal of one channel is directly converted into sound, noise included. It is working on the raw data stream, not on the spikes. The main use of the sound tool is to free you eyes to control a manipulator for example, and still be able to detect activity, and not to convert neural activity into music .

Re: Better sound
What if I want to convert it into something a bit more like music, ie a distinct note for spikes detected at each channel? How should I go about making that happen?
Re: Better sound
Hi,
good question. I think I would record spikes as timestamps only, and load this into MatLab. Maybe the FIND Toolbox can do something like you need, I don't know.

Anyway, programming something in MatLab is the only idea I can think of.

Guys
I can't listen high the MEA´s sound.
I dont know why, the volumen in Mc Rack, PC and bocinas is in the max high, but the sound is very low.
Can you listen the "music" with normal level?
Saludos!!!

Re: Better sound
Dear Joaquin,
can you tell me which hardware and MC_Rack version you are using? Then I'll try to reproduce the problem.
