How to test a flexMEA
Hello,
I am trying to make a test before to the culture to determine if my system based on FlexMEA acquires the signals that could be produced in the different channels.
So far I have verified that is able to produce stimuli verifying the conduction of current.
Somebody could contribute some suggestion to me?
Thank you very much,
Miguel

Hello Miguel,
would it maybe make sense to dip the MEA in a bath and
apply stimuli resembling spikes or field potentials to
the bath? A crude method, I know ...

Re: How to test a flexMEA
Dear Frank,
I recently tried to test a FlexMEA in a saline bath and encountered a puzzling behavior. After putting the MEA into the saline to check the baseline noise, I did not see the expected +/- flat signal although all channels should be short-circuited. Rather the system recorded highly regular waveshapes that strongly resemble a behavior I also encounter if I record data with an open preamplifier (no probe, electrode or MEA connected). I see this both on older and brand new FlexMEAs. With respect to the open preamps I was already in contact with your support and was told that an open preamp is in an undefined state and could produce virtually every waveform. However, I do not understand why this happens with a short-circuited FlexMEA connected.
All the best,
Ingmar

Re: How to test a flexMEA
for a female socket that would connect to a ADPT-FM-32. I must confess that I'm a bit overwhelmed by the number, and variety of items that match my criteria.
