Upper limit for recordings Empty Upper limit for recordings

Post  mcs Thu Jun 12, 2008 11:46 am

Dear MCS,

I sometimes record EPSPs which are greater than 3-4 mV. However, my MC Rack does not record anything bigger than 3.4 mV using the widest voltage range (+/- 4 mV) and shows all the traces in truncated form. I suspect I could manage it changing the gain, but could you advise me how to do it properly?

Many thanks,

Max

Dear Max,

the gain of the amplifiers is a hardware parameter which cannot be changed for MEA1060, MEA1060BC and FA and PA amplifiers. It is freely programmable on our PGA series amplifiers.

If I remember right, you are working with a MEA1060 amplifier, where changing the gain would require hardware adjustments which can be only done in our factory site.
When we suggest a MEA amplifier to a customer we ask for the expected signal amplitude and frequency in order to customize amplifiers for that specific application and to avoid problems as you are observing right now.

Please contact us by mail or phone in order to arrange a way to solve your problem. (meyer@multichannelsystems.com +49-7121-909250)
