ME-16-USB system Empty ME-16-USB system

Post  yu Fri Jul 11, 2008 2:21 pm

Hi,

In our ME-16-USB-system,the eight channels' outputs of one miniature preamplifier(MPA8I) have the same amplitude 100uV when grounded, which is much larger than the standard amplitude of 20uV. I want to know what's wrong with the miniature preamplifier?

Many thanks,
Terry

Dear Terry, could you describe the problem in a bit more detail?
You could ground the electrodes of one MPA8I, but not the electrodes of the other one, did I get this right?
So you know you have to connect the ground and the reference plugs to properly ground the electrodes?
It would also make sense to swap the two MPA8I to see whether the problem comes from the USB-amplifier or
(more likely) the MPA8. If you could tell us the serial number of your system this would also help.

Best regards Frank (MCS)

The serial number of our system is "ME16-Q3l4239".
I'm sure I have plugged the reference to the ground.
When testing the system, I connect both electrodes of both MPA8Is to the ground. The output of one MPA8I is 100uV. Actually, It keeps 100uV no matter what it connects(the test chip or our own MEA chip.) Foutunately, the other MPA8I works well.
I test the amplifier by the good MPA8I and make sure it OK.
So could you give me some advice what it happened on the 100uV-MPA8I?

Dear Terry,
if our documentation is right you got your system in April 07, is that right? I suggest you make sure that the problem comes from the MPA8In and not from the filter amplifier by swapping the MPAs, as I suggested. If it is the MPA8I you can send it in and we will check it. If it is damaged and the problem is not because of an operating error, the repair or replacement will be on guarantee. Please also send an e-mail descibing the problem and containing your adress to support@multichannelsystems.com.

Dear Frank,

Thank you for your reply!
I have contacted your agents "Qichi" in Shanghai and they will come to our lab for a check.
